Reach us
Write to support@derbysocial.app. Tell us what happened, what you expected, and the email address on your Derby account. Screen recordings and screenshots help more than you’d think.
We answer, usually within a day or two. Safety reports go to the front of the queue.
Reporting someone
Open the person’s profile, or press and hold their photo or comment, and choose Report. Pick a reason — spam, harassment, inappropriate, child safety, or other — and add anything that helps. A report on a photo or a comment brings that photo or comment along with it. Only Derby’s safety team sees a report. The person you reported isn’t told, and nothing in the app hints that you did it.
Child safety reports go to the front of the line. When the law requires it, we share them with authorities.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. We can act on an account; we can’t send help to an address.
You can also report by email using the address above, which is the route to use if you can’t sign in or the account you’re reporting has already blocked you.
Blocking and muting
Block is the strong one. A blocked person can’t find you, see anything you post, or receive your plans, and the block overrides every other visibility rule in Derby. Block from their profile; review the list in Settings → Blocked people.
Mute is the quiet one. It takes someone out of your stream without ending the friendship or telling them anything. Settings → Muted people.
Blocking someone is separate from reporting them. If someone did something worth our attention, do both — blocking alone tells us nothing.
Account help
- Can’t sign in. Derby emails you a code instead of using a password. Check spam, and make sure you’re using the address you signed up with. If that address is gone, write to us.
- Want a copy of your photos. Settings → Your account → Export your photos. Exports are limited to two per month.
- Need a break. Settings → Your account → Take a rest makes you temporarily invisible without deleting anything.
- Want to leave for good. See Delete my account. It’s permanent, it takes two steps, and you have 24 hours to change your mind.
